Soul. Blues. Funk….and rock. Hard, heavy, footstompin’ rock. The MOTHER SUPERIOR band has brought all of these in abundance in the form of excellent releases since the mid 90s. But the fluid, seasoned blues-rock of this power trio never sounded as fierce on 2002’s mighty “Sin” album. Recorded in between sessions for the ROLLINS BAND “Nice” album, the band was prepared to shelve the tracks for months until the opportunity arose to release them on their own Top Beat label. Luckily for us, brother WAYNE KRAMER took a liking to these glistening nuggets of rock ‘n soul, and unleashed them on his own label, Muscle Tone Records. And speaking of “muscular tones”, we defy you to find a more ragged, paint-peeling riff than “Pretty In The Morning” or more perfect classic rock songcraft than “Rocks”. Eleven tracks, stacked a mile high with stunning vocals, great songwriting, and liquid grooves. Not a minute of filler to be found. Another great release from one of the most consistent bands of the decade.
