2009

Jerky, bombastic, stuffed with gutsy guitar and elements of classic postpunk, Welsh indie bruisers Andy "Falco" Falkous and Jack Egglestone deliver their crowning eardrum buzz with FOTL's third full-length, "Travels With Myself and Another". Dominated by Falco's ominous / ludicrous PETER GABRIEL-from-hell delivery, Kelson Mathias' colossal bass tones and robotic, assembly-line arrangements, the album dishes out one ripping tune after another. The overpowering choppy keyboard licks and clever lyrics of "You Need Satan More Than He Needs You" and the dark, marching madness of "The House That Hope Built" are prime examples of the band's curious marriage of elephantine musical aggression and wry pop balderdash.
