Yeah baby! DAMN NERO is like an atomic roar of vintage ACCEPT and early AC/DC. So what's not to like? Actually, as much as we've been enjoying a lot of the new stuff that's coming out these days, this DAMN NERO disc kind of takes you back to the early 80s when you didn't think things like "I wonder if there are any guitar solos?". Lead singer Mattis does a great job of walking the tightrope between Udo and Bon with songs like "Harley on a Highway" and "Whiskey Made the Blues". These guys aren't out to win the Nobel Prize or anything with this approach - but it rocks like crazy, and we'll be trying to pick up their earlier albums asap (is this a debut, or do they have, um... three others?) It makes you wonder why some other bands try to complicate things so much....just lay out a kickass riff and scream your lungs out! Recommended for metalheads that still go banannas when "Fast as a Shark" comes on.
