Is there such a thing as unhealthy music? That's the first thing that comes to mind upon listening to "Idiopathic".
Some of you may be familiar with this band since they already released an album and appeared on several compilations and split-singles. For those not in the know; If music could be detected through smell FISTULA's ugly sludgecore-groove would reek like an open sewer. With the exception of the thrashing "Fear Of One" the songs are all slow, plodding, doomy and really, REALLY heavy. And sung with all the subtlety of fingernails over a chalkboard. My favorite track without a doubt is "Shadow Of The Serpent" which seems to last forever. And I really wonder what J.J. CALE will think when he hears FISTULA's rendition of his classic "Cocaine" which closes this album.
There's really not much else to be said except that "Idiopathic" is highly recommended listening for people into BONGZILLA, EYEHATEGOD and the slower parts of early grindcore recordings. Not everyone will enjoy the journey FISTULA will take you on though, so if you're in the least bit squeamish (I'm not), approach with caution.
