RITE are a Finnish band who released several EP's and one full-length album called "Shoot Skull For Jackpot". "The Creep Had It Coming, Part 1" is their latest 5-track EP. It's strange. Whenever I see footage of the Scandinavian countries they seem like such nice, clean places. At the same time they produce some of the dirtiest rock imaginable. And RITE are no exception, as you may already have guessed from that disturbing album title. Not to mention song titles like "Bodybag Boogie" and "665 and Counting".
Since this release only has 5 songs it's tempting to do a song by song review but in this case that would be rather pointless. According to their website they call their music 'heavy rock'n'roll' and I really couldn't think of a more apt description. All 5 songs on this EP are straight-ahead no nonsense rock combined with the heaviness of a band like ENTOMBED. And the up-tempo rocker "665 and Counting" is the perfect combination of ENTOMBED and MOTÖRHEAD. And everything is played with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Can I be any more clear? Zero points for originality but the full-on maximum score (and then some) for pure simplistic brutality.
I say bring on part 2!! Methinks the creep hasn't had enough yet !
