  • How? How do I approach greatness like this with sufficient humility? I was thrilled to receive a copy of this brand new disc from the wisest, the dirtiest, and the most sonically frightening southern scumpunk band ever to plug into a Marshall. What did Bill Murray say in "What About Bob"? I think it was something like. "...he's so far above us; we're just like ropes on the Goodyear Blimp." Now, if that makes any sense to you whatsoever, then you'll understand how I feel about these guys. And if not, well, you can go watch "The 700 Club" and forget you ever read this review.

I'm exceedingly pleased, almost to the point of a total meltdown, to announce that all of the classic ANTISEEN elements are here in abundance. The Cosmic Commander, the between-track snippets of wisdom that we all know and love, lots of lyrical middle-finger salutes, and even Doug's wife makes an appearance with some sweet-sounding background vocals.

On some of my favorite ANTISEEN albums, the raw production reduces the band's the axe-to-the-head riffage to near background noise. Of course, the lyrics and vox are so entertaining, it doesn't really matter. But on "Badwill Ambassadors", the production is much more in-your-face. The piledriving crunch, especially in tracks like "Scapegoat" and "Ten Pounds of Shit in a Five Pound Bag" really hit home, making other formerly credible bands like HAMMERLOCK sound almost pale by comparison. I personally lit several candles and did some breathing exercises to prepare for the epiphany of "The Devil Meets the Long Haired Weirdo". I knew I would find enlightenment. After all, as the liner notes clearly state, "ANTISEEN uses only authentic sounds from hell". I couldn't agree more. Buy this today, or Jeff and the boys will come and stick a bottle rocket up your parakeet's ass.
