  • Earache medicine.

  • Woo hoo! Blistering, killer, hardcore grindcore thrash reminiscent of the late 80s NAPALM DEATH glory days. CYNESS are a German outfit that from all accounts are ripping up the local scene and are now seeking world domination. From the sounds of "Loony Planet / Industreality", they are heading in the right direction. This disc features the band's latest album as well as their first release, originally recorded in 2001. CYNESS does not muck around, pumping out about 22 tunes in about 22 minutes. While the album is a flat-out speed feast, there is the odd moment taken for subtle time changes, keeping things interesting. It's brutal and intelligent, and I feel they have taken just a hint of intellect from the hardcore punk scene and incorporated it into their bludgeoning assault.

Fans of extreme hardcore/metal (especially fans of the early Earache bands of the late 80s and early 90s) should love this release. Buy it!
