  • If you ever want to hear a perfect cross-section of all there is to hate about modern-rock FM radio programming, look no further than REVERY!

These future gas station attendants have perfectly mastered the sound and style of so many of the formulaic "rock" bands that are making millions these days, that I really have to admit to some level of admiration for these guys in their total shamelessness. The track "Popstar Wedding" is the most blatant and obvious VELVET REVOLVER rip-off to come out since that whole fiasco first emerged. In fact, many of the tracks feature vocals that sound more like Scott Weiland than Weiland himself sounds these days. If the name NICKLEBACK instills in you anything other than the constipated feeling in your bowels that it gives me, then the track "3 Weeks" might just be your tune! The rest of the disc sounds like a watered down GODSMACK, which is funny, because GODSMACK made a healthy career of sounding like a watered down ALICE IN CHAINS or "Load"-era METALLICA.

And, of course, no measure of tough-guy posturing would be complete without exposing some sensitivity for the ladies in the audience! Two of the 13 (!) tracks on here, "Penelope" and "Secondhand Redemption" are of the power ballad persuasion, but they are so forced and insincere, that I can't see these songs inspiring any chicks to give the band some head unless they are really dudes. Good luck with that, fellas.

Thankfully, there are no rap-rock LIMP BIZKIT swipes here. I think that's worth one point on the Peacedogman review meter!
