Wow. This is about as lo-fi as it gets. Slightly out-of-tune murky acoustic guitar. Check. Mumbling tuneless vocals. Check. Copious amounts of tape hiss. Check. JANDEK influence. Check - well, maybe not. The guitar is definitely way more advanced than the stuff I heard from that midwestern moonbat. “Talking In Bubbles” is a spoken word piece that sets the tone for the experience. “Survival is an afterthought” indeed. “Vultures And Doves” could be a well-written piece of music if it were not for the aforementioned vocals. The singing style in “Darkness At Noon” fits much better with the music despite the limitations of the voice. “The Jailbait That Stole His Heart” is more of the same with better chord progressions than that previous tune. Not bad, but the vocals really need some work.
