  • With all the poorly disguised me-too death metal bands blanketing the metal realm, its like a breath of fresh (but death-like) air to spin something like this disc from these crazy Fins, INCRIMINATED. Sure, we’re not far off the mark from total VENOM mimickry, but that’s the great part. This disc sounds like it was recorded in ’84, not '03. As much as we go on about those early VENOM, SODOM, and SABBAT (Jap) albums, it seems that we hardly ever get in something new that’s as delightfully primordial as this. Simple, unpolluted lyrics of diabolical calculation like, “I am morbid, and I am cruel, your suffering, my fuel” and a three-piece band with a drummer called “Werewolf” will draw nothing but praise from me. I’ll bet these guys could bang out a wicked version of “Louie, Louie” and follow it up with “Bonebreaker” or something. You’re just not going to find anything more straight-up and charmingly evil than “Possessed by Lycanthropy”, complete with liberal cowbell, and tempo changes that spew loose screws along the road with thundering bottom end. The quick, howling lead blasts, the swamp-floor croaking of bassist Harold Mentor, and the bedsprings poking out from seemingly everywhere make this one niftier than finding a $10 bill in the dryer. Please buy several copies today and help spread this outbreak of evil.
