  • Killer debut of instrumental space rock!
  • I could say that they are like a cross between instrumental groups like CUL DE SAC and PELL MELL, but they also have the density that psyche ensembles like SPACEMEN 3 and BARDO POND encompass. “Intention” kicks things off with sort of a CAN/Krautrock vibe. The tom-tom heavy drumming and heavily phased guitar furthermore make this sound an awful lot like the aforesaid CUL DE SAC. MSK are from Germany and CDS were from Boston so these guys are closer, geologically speaking, to the origins of that style of music. “23 Enigma” has a heaviness to it that makes me think of MONSTER MAGNET. “Glow” has that CHAMELEONS UK clean delayed guitar vibe to it. The really eerie keyboards that end it take it to the next level and introduce the next composition rather amply. At times it feels like some of these tunes saunter on a little longer than they should, but I guess that’s the way of the groove. All 6 of the opus’s here, ranging from 5 to 9 minutes in length, place together quite an impressive debut.
