  • DEATH CAMP EXPERIMENT - "Death Camp Experiment", 2007 (Anti-Corporate Music)
  • Pleasant grindcore rebirth.

  • Despite the odd BATHORY / black metal looking cover art, this is classic dual vocal, blast beat thumping grindcore all the way. In fact on the back cover it proclaims in big letters "DIY Grind Forever" and after playing this twenty minute, twelve track CD-R, I must toast that statement.

It's not to surprising to hear this three-piece outfit's doomy lyrical concerns when you consider their home - the country music mecca of Nashville, Tennessee. Tracks like "McChristian", "Fight The Oppressors, Not The Oppressed" and "Deprogram Decontrol" seem to make all the more sense.

Musically this has a nice raw but suitable production taking me back to the glory days of the early Earache, Peaceville and Nuclear Blast labels. With DOOM and EXTREME NOISE TERROR coming especially to mind. Although it must be said DEATH CAMP EXPERIMENT wrestle with a well-worn formula, I think they made a hell of a go at it.
