  • From the opening mostly instrumental “All The People Of God” it’s not hard to tell the direction this disc is headed. The disc itself says “headphone friendly”. Trippy later ‘80’s HAWKWIND like vibe. As you could have guessed there is noninterventionist doses of crazy sounding synthesizers and delayed guitars. “Acoustic Envelopes To Home” is just as trippy even if it uses supplementary vocals and (as one might have guessed) acoustic guitar to get it’s point across. “Awash In The Garden (Again)” kind of reminds me of the early DEVO demos from the "Hardcore Devo" discs. Mix it in with a little HELIOS CREED era CHROME and you get the idea. “At The Edge Of Time Do You Lose Your Mind?” has got that with CAN vibe as well.

The music contained here is very diverse yet cohesive. There is no point at which I thought that this was just a bunch of random compositions thrown together like most solo recordings. There may be two songs right next to each other that sound fundamentally different, but you later find out that they tie in sonically with other tunes. Although the sounds here works well enough if your mind is not chemically altered, “Urban Heat Island” is best experienced with a good healthy dose of ganja smokedown. I’ve tried this both ways with this CD and the latter was a tad more enjoyable. For sure.
