Brevity is an admirable trait in modern music, but this is out of control. The seven tracks that compose the epic "Tete Malade/Sick in the Head" CD clock in at a total of nine minutes and 10 seconds (the longest track being a minute and 34.). It seems as if it would take you longer to try to pronounce the album title than to listen to disc itself. Usually, this wouldn't be a problem, as most recent punk bands tend to wear out their welcome about three quarters of the way through any full-length release, but these snotty Euro-punks provide such a foot-tapping good time, it's hard not to want to hear more. One can't help but be charmed by obnoxious vocals, the driving beats, and the almost surf-rock guitar rhythms of LES HATE PINKS. With song titles like "My City is Sick of Pizza," "Should I Kill Myself or Go Jogging?" and "Your Ass is a Stereotype," how can you go wrong?
The vibe of the music on here is pretty much "been there, done that," but it's well produced and performed, and should suit fans of the genre just fine. Hopefully future releases will be more substantial.
