  • You've heard it before.

  • Not to be confused with the long lasting Texas noise project, this three piece hail from Wales and have been in existence since the mid '90s themselves. Released last year on the Lee Dorrian's infamous Rise Above label, Candlelight picks this up for U.S. consumption.

Oddly I would have guessed this to be a U.S. outfit, as their blend of '80s metalcore, stoner groove rock and progressive sound shifts reminds me more of mid '90s New York, then '08 U.K. In fact back in the mid '90s I would have been much more into this disc with tracks like "Corpse Of Love" and "Born Against Nihilist" having a catchy but powerful punch to them. However by the time the 23 minute minute closing number "Mass Appeal Sadness" rolled around I found myself tired of the entire formula and looking forward to this cd ending.

While admittedly not a huge fan of TAINT's style, I didn't hear anything much different then HELMET where doing ten plus years ago.
