THOMAS FUNCTION is an indie rock band that showcases a variety of influences. One can clearly hear 60's British Invasion/garage band magic at work here, along with an 80's new wave approach as well, made evident by the ever-present use of synthesizers.
The three tracks on here go by quick, and will likely leave the listener wanting to hear more. The songs, "Conspiracy of Praise," "Blue and Green" and "The Insignificants," are poppy and exuberant, and just might win over even the most cynical of souls if given half a chance. The lispy, over-excited vocals come within two centimeters of annoying, but the fact that they suit the music so perfectly saves them. Add some nice, DIY production, and you have a very well conceived and good sounding platter on your hands.
If you ever have to invite your douchebag friends over who used to go to art school, put THOMAS FUNCTION on and nobody's sensibilities will be offended. They might even be impressed.
