  • The best Maiden album since...the last Maiden album.

  • I usually hate bands that try to sound like MAIDEN but this is actually really great. This is kind of like the best MAIDEN moments with Bruce and a touch of Ronnie James in the vocals. I'm sure these numbskulls are singing about deep shit but much like MAIDEN I could givafugless. Jesus! I wish you could hear "I Am The Hammer" right now! So awesome! This is most definitely going in the van next time I leave town. You can only listen to so much punk rock before you wanna scream after all.

This shit is so meaty and they avoid the pitfalls of modern influence. My only beef is that the bass drum doesn't sound like a bass drum. It sounds like someone punching a fluffy pillow. This is, of course, a common metal mistake. It's either that or they make it sound like a typewriter. Both are no good. You should feel the bass drum and not necessarily hear it. That leetle beef aside this is a ruler. They even incorporate some of the moments of "Master Of Puppets" era METALLICA into the feel. Everything about this is right for the sound they are playing. Fuck, if I hadn't blown my nose on their press sheet I could tell you where they are from or some other details. Unfortunately, I had a runny nose and in the Vicodin/booze haze it seemed smart. Matter of fact, it seemed to be the best idea since the next closest thing to me was a stack of rare records that I wasn't about to snot on.

Regardless, as the bottles magically empty in rapid succession it is time for me to return to the world of the living and put these damn headphones down. I have BUDGIE bootlegs to burn.
