It really does not get any rawer than this. Two snarly guitars and pounding percussion played on god knows what. Sonically this really gets me a thinking ‘bout the old PUSSY GALORE stuff that blew my mind back in the day. THE GORIES come to mind as well. Vocally the singing is quite different as there is two guys here representing various vintage sensibilities. One guy does the snarly snotty leads and is backed up on occasion by a lower voice doing the Bowser from SHA NA NA deal. The title track and “Blow My Top” are perfect examples of this. “I’ll Never Belong” and “Into the Snow” show some doo-wop sophistication. Over the top rockers like “Treat Me Like A Dog”, “Zombies” and “Dock It # 8” personify the bulk of this fine release from In The Red Records. “Why Don’t You Lie’ is wonderful ballad with ballsy guitar crescendo. “Captain Captain” has the garage rock blueprint minus the Farfisa keys. “What’s For Dinner” closes with the instrumental “Suck It And Smell”.
