The clangor of early hardcore punk is en vogue again. This band could give a shit. If they did, they woulda cleaned up the recording and made the whole thing more palatable. Instead they go for being an open sore on display; naked, disgusting, and honest. They borrow from the right places (Mystic Records stuff, some of the more fucked up bands from Cali's past like SICK PLEASURE, etc.) and then make it their own. I just get the feeling they don't care about much including this review and that's more than good. I like the idea that there are still degenerates and misfits like this running around, ruining it for a bunch of Care Bear types. Hell they barely put any effort into a cover for the thing.
If punk should be anything, it's unsafe and unpredictable. WARKRIME does a great job of making sure both aspects are intact. So, while some of this sounds a bit like early ILL REPUTE, I can't imagine I.R. doing a song about shooting speed. Ever. But these shitbags do it and make it clear that they just don't care. Well played sirs. The only thing I can think of that corrupts it to me is the weird echo on the vocals for the lp portion (the cd has the lp, an ep, and a comp track on it) of the disc. If they woulda turned that down in the mix,we'd really be in business.
All in all, this is a solid release by a label that has a good track record thus far. Not much more to add.
