  • Ol' Jim's been (not) working hard this year.

  • "Night Killers" finds Kansas' FILTHY JIM taking a bite out of BIBLE OF THE DEVIL's epic metal grandeur for their third (and final) disc. Waiting impatiently for the next BOTD release? Prepare for the next best thing.

These guys silently went out of business sometime last year, but given what we hear on "Night Killers," these guys went out with a bang. The high-octane nature, nuanced guitar interplays and IRON MAIDEN style harmonies of songs like "Flight of the Mongoloid," "Vaporizer," "Sucking Life," and the title track steal the show. Sunn 0))) ) fans take note, the boys floor us with almost three minutes of feedback at the end of "Lips, Hips, and Fingertips." The results of "Night Killers" really make you wonder what life would have been like if only those damn major labels had backed up the armored car and showered riches upon our heroes to save them from the harsh toils of a career in underground rock.

So the boys have moved on to greener pastures having missed their ride on the rock n' roll gravy train. A happily ever after of never having to "kiss ass" awaits them. They might be gone, but given "Night Killers," they will never be forgotten (at least until the next BIBLE OF THE DEVIL record comes out, that is…)
