  • Not in Kansas anymore.

  • Kansas death squad ORIGIN creates mayhemic destructa-twirls aimed right at the hearts and minds of the peeps and deathgrind junkies (the type whose air drums go crazy at the sound of a distant woodpecker whilst waiting at a red light). While there’s definitely no shortage of black-hearted, hate-filled, intensity here, the disc does trudge on a bit, and tracks may seem samey for metal fans seeking more than darks and more darks. Triggers click everywhere, guttural barks and evil cackles bounce over the din, and occasionally a lawnmower runs over a guitar. But when ORIGIN backs haphazardly into a groove, as in the battering “Designed to Expire”, the racket is such that no self-respecting PIG DESTROYER fan could resist its powers. But look sharp; rumor has it hell has recently become a smoke-free workplace.
