From the very first track "Release in Death", these guys make abundantly clear that we're dealing with Gothenburg-style death metal. "Terra Necrosis" conjures the classic Swedish guitar crunch, invoking memories of early 1990s stuff like ENTOMBED's monumental "Left Hand Path" record. "Arcanum" is fast and furious with some catchy, mid-tempo breaks. "Black Chapel" recalls another group of Swedes - DISMEMBER, along with some impressive doomy moments. "Ebola" rages fast and furious, while "Among the Beasts & Ancient Slumber" is surprisingly memorable, despite the frequent blast beats. This release finds Gothenburg death metal deftly and smartly executed by the NOMINON bunch. Although there's nothing new here I'm sure the deathheads will find plenty to enjoy indeed.
