Finland's SCARECROW play the kind of hardcore thrash that has the “been there done that” quality to it. Yet where they excel is in the higher caliber songwriting and it does not hurt that the musicianship is top notch. These guys play with the precision of some of the better death metal acts out there. Bass player Grim has the best tone I’ve heard in long time for this style of bludgeoning bruiser core. By the time I get to the end of this disc, I am still bobbing my head and flailing me arms, lads! Scarecrow does not let up or remit it’s powers one friggin’ iota. I know that kind of thing is expected when it comes to this music, but usually yours truly is quite bored midset or after the first couple cuts when the wad has been shot. I know that I’ve heard “Don’t Open the Cemetary Gates” on the radio at least once or twice on WKPX down here in South Floriduh. The fact that I can remember these tunes tells somethin’ about the tunesmiths.
