Werewolf cult black metallers HORNA uncork 8 hell-blazing tracks of grade-A Finnish sound pollution with "Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaaune". In case you're wondering how they approximate such scrumptious chainsaw rawness, the answer could lie in the fact that they're veterans of the scene (don't worry, they slipped under our radar too). In fact, these guys have had sympathy for the devil since first forming waaay back in '93. Six albums later, the boys are back, determined to give us multiple reasons for hiding our livestock.
If screams, corpse paint, and torches light up your life, then this disc will be like the proverbial Fourth of July. Each track kinda squirms with a slithery, menacing evil vibe and hooks a-plenty, not unlike those early BATHORY records that your mother confiscated years ago. Plus, the arrangements are such that huge and marvelous riffs seem likely to drop from the sky at any moment, leaving you feeling like the Wicked Witch of the East on more than one occasion. You'll have no earthly idea what they're singing about (all lyrics are written in Finnish), but don't let that stop you from acquiring this dark gem. The gut-level HELLHAMMER crunch of cuts like "Saastainen Kaste" are just super-appealing. Highly recommended.
