  • Another brain-melter from Selfmadegod.

  • So you’re boiling over and in need of a place to channel your hostility. There’s no reason to kick that yapping dog next door or stab your boss in the eye with a Sharpie. Take a lesson from Polish grinders THIRD DEGREE. Sure, they’re tired of licking the insides from discarded tuna cans for their dinner, but you don’t see them creating problems with unhealthy forms of aggression. Instead, they’ve focused every ounce of hate into this action-packed 13-song pipe bomb, and it's snappier than falling into a pit of loaded mousetraps.

Those with weak dispositions need not apply. In fact, if you’re one of those pineapple-on-the-pizza or decorated checkbook cover types, do yourself a favor and skip it. But if chunky, down-the-middle death metal is your game, then this hunk of Polish sausage will hit the spot.

The THIRD DEGREE boys understand the dynamics of uncompromising power – beefy guitar sounds, tempo variations, brick house riffs, etc.. Drummer Wotej Blazkowski kicks up one of the most entertaining and hellish displays of controlled mayhem I’ve heard all year. His creative battering in tracks like “Never Gonna Get Me” and “No Forgiveness” will quickly cause little grey chunks of cauliflower-shapes to fall out of your ears (go ahead, convince yourself it’s only lint). The twin guitars of Symon Szech and Andrej Pawlowski waste not a single note on lead wankery in favor of maximum dropkicks to the sternum. The bloodthirsty rage of “Pope Died Tonight” is powerful enough to drive the youngun’s to break their MISERY INDEX discs over their knees and start all over again.
