Hells yeah! Not since the debut from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES have I heard such shameless, no-frills, balls to the wall hardcore punk noise. NYC's SEIZURE CRYPT certainly isn't what you'd call a "polished" band. Their hilarious and clearly self-made album art is made to look like a comic book, and probably required bare minimum knowledge of Photoshop. In other words, it's fucking brilliant! This also marks the first time in a long time that I've encountered a true hardcore band led by a long hair: in this case guitarist/bassist/vocalist Tom Reardon, who, along with second screamer Mike S.O.S., raises one 'elluva racket through these seven tracks.
Starting things off are two blistering speed fests in "No Room Left to Bleed" and "Great Defector", but then things get really interesting with the banjo-injected "Death Rider". The most comical interaction between the two vocalists occurs in "Stalk", after which things get slightly political but with the same charm of the previous songs. To end things on a "WTF?" note, the slow grinding finisher "Herein the Problem Lies" has a quaint little classical guitar outro for a great exclamation point to the whole package. In short, this is 20 minutes that leaves one wanting-nay-begging and pleading for more. I must have listened to this thing a dozen times already and it still warrants further repeats. Enough talking: let's get a sample of this thing uploaded already so everyone can bask in the kick-ass glory that is SEIZURE CRYPT!
