Question: How does a black metal band from Singapore separate itself from countless domestic and European bands of the same ilk? Answer: Play as fast and heavy as (super)humanly possible! IMPIETY have been around for almost 20 years now, and during that time they’ve perfected the traditional approach of POSSESSED and early SODOM and have infused it with the frantic pace of IMPALED NAZARENE. As opener “Slaughterror Superiority” unfolds, frontman Shyaithan resurrects the classic Tom Angelripper rasp with the battle cry of “Worship…war…rape…Satan!!” The following track “Dominator” really showcases the IMPALED NAZARENE speed along with a generous helping of old-school thrash riffs. Finally, after they throw in a SARCOFAGO cover (“The Black Vomit”) for good measure, “At War with Temujin” stampedes with the ferocity of classic IMMORTAL. The production of this EP is crisp and clean, leaving the listener feeling every palm-muted pick and drum beat going through them like a gunshot to the gut. Bottom line: Those who crave all things brutal and blasphemous can chalk this one up as an essential purchase. Buy or fucking die!
