Ever thought about that secret recording session that took place in the late 70’s with Robert Smith of THE CURE singing for XTC with JOE JACKSON producing? Why, Vancouver's TRANZMITORS even have a song here called “Why Don’t Boys Cry”. A parable of some such? “Something’s Going On” sounds as though it were lifted right off “White Music” or “Go Two”. The drums on this one are soooo XTC that there could be a lawsuit pending. Does it bother me much? Nada. Not an iota. If you are gonna copy someone, it may as well be someone amazing. The flow from “Beating Up My Heart” to “Is Your Head Hollow” is just so smooth that it simply does not matter. One of my favorites is one of the closing tunes “Alma Blackwell”. This 10 tune disc clocks in at slightly over a half hour, sounds great and there isn't much more to write about now is there? Over and out.
