  • Too slick for the streets.

  • The thing about TKO Records is they either put out some of the toughest, nastiest, snottiest, ass kicking stuff or they put out stuff like this. I really like TKO a lot. I think they put out some seriously top notch stuff. But, consistency is not their strong point. This just doesn't do much for me and not because there aren't some good songs on here. They just have a habit of adding in these really slick pop moments that leave me limp. All I can think of is a band like GOOD CHARLOTTE trying to play street punk.

I've heard this band in the past and thought they were ok but the songs seemed to be rougher. Which is what stuff like this should be. Like sand paper committed to grooves. This is not that sound. It's polished in all the wrong ways. See, this kinda thing is the kinda thing I only like when it's got that raw almost hardcore edge to it or it has that pub rock thing going on. They hit the almost hardcore thing but the pop element ruins it for me. It's just depressing to listen to because I can imagine "the kids" going for this over a thousand bands that are 100 x better at this. Many of which are on TKO. IE THE BELTONES, BODIES, PRESSURE POINT, TEMPLARS, etc. Send them money and check those bands out and you'll thank me later.
